Community works to feed families amid crisis

   The Habersham County School System’s nutrition department now has a plan in place to provide limited meals to community children age 18 and under.     As of Tuesday, meals may be picked up daily between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Habersham County activates its coronavirus prevention plan

   Habersham County is doing all it can to be prepared if the COVID-19 coronavirus comes here.    Over the weekend, there were reports of two positive cases in Hall County, though one of those was later revealed to be someone from another county who sought medical attention there.

   The recipient of the 2019-2020 Support System of the Year for Habersham County Schools was South Habersham Middle School nurse Christy Blakely.     She will go on to represent the Habersham County School system at the state level.

Fairview's Green named Habersham's Teacher of the Year

   Habersham County Schools held their annual awards banquet Tuesday where they named Ansley Green, fifth grade English and Language Arts at Fairview Elementary School, as Teacher of the Year. Green will next represent the Habersham County School system at the state level.

   The Complete Count Census Committee held their last meeting Tuesday to discuss how to ensure the maximum number of Habersham Countians are aware of Census Day on April 1.     The committee is still pushing to advertise through as many avenues possible.
