Charles C. “Charlie” Braswell, 82. of Cornelia, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020 at a private care facility. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:45 p.m.

A gathering for family and friends to celebrate the life of William Grant "Bill" Merrick Jr., 92, of Clarkesville, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at Clarkesville United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall with Pastor Keith Cox, the Rev. Phil DeMore, and the Rev. Jan Devereaux officiating.

Funeral services for Hortense Anderson Payne, 92, of Toccoa, were held Thursday, Jan. 30, at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. David Harbin and Pastor Tony Yang officiating. Interment followed in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.  Mrs. Payne passed away Tuesday, Jan.

Harold Mitchell Gerrin

Harold Mitchell Gerrin, 83, of Baldwin, passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, 2020. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 28, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel. Interment followed in Yonah Memorial Gardens with military honors.

Pamela Lee Sprayberry Thomas, 61 of Toccoa, passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2020. No formal services have been planned. Habersham Crematory of Cornelia is in charge of arrangements.

Charles Thomas Lewis, 76, of Toccoa, passed away Jan. 23, 2020, at his residence. A Celebration of Life will be arranged at a later date. The family would like to thank Pruitt Health Hospice and the 3rd floor staff of Stephens County Hospital.
