Lady Raiders eye final region games

The Habersham Central varsity softball team split a region doubleheader Tuesday against Jackson County falling 5-4 in the opener and winning the nightcap 4-3. “I would have liked for us to sweep the series against Jackson County but I am glad we won the series overall.

Raiders take on Jackson County in special Thursday tilt

   Habersham County's football team went on the road a day early Thursday and had its toughest loss of the year, falling 38-13 at Jackson County.    The Raiders struggled offensively and lost more defensive players to injury.

Softball team pushes for home playoff game

Habersham Central’s softball team played in the Morgan County Tournament over the weekend and split four games while tuning up for a big week in regional play. The Lady Raiders also defeated Shiloh 14-1 on Thursday for a region win.

Lady Raiders avenge losses to 3A powers

Habersham Central’s volleyball team picked up two wins Thursday in home non-region matches against the visiting Dawson County Lady Tigers and the Cherokee Bluff Lady Bears, both teams that had beaten the Lady Raiders earlier this season.

Lady Indians second, boys fourth at Heroes Invitational

In the annual TFS Heroes Invitational at Tallulah Falls, a handful of varsity teams came together on what turned out to be a perfect fall Saturday morning. The Lady Indians secured a second-place finish as a team, while the Indians were fourth.

Lady Indians take first place

Tallulah Falls’ varsity volleyball team was able to avenge an earlier loss to No. 6-ranked Prince Avenue Christian, winning on Monday in straight sets to highlight the tri-match at Elbert County. Overall, the No. 5-ranked Lady Indians secured wins over Elbert and PAC.

TFS middle school tennis eyes region tournament

In what stands as the final tune-up for the MS tennis teams before the league tournament begins, the boys and girls both secured wins on Monday afternoon to gain momentum. Though Rabun Gap is a league opponent, this matchup was pre-determined not to count toward the league standings.

Habersham Central has outscored its opponents in each of the first three quarters for the season to date, except one – the fourth. Not only do the Raiders not have the advantage in the final period, they have been outscored by 40 points.
