Raider baseball, Lady Raiders soccer battle in Thursday playoff tilts

   Habersham Central's baseball team split with South Paulding in their first-round series on the road Thursday night. The Raiders won Game 1 8-3 and fell 10-1 in the nightcap.    The Raiders will play a sudden death Game 3 on Friday night to determine who will advance.

Tallulah Falls baseball team hosts playoff first-round series

   Tallulah Falls' baseball team swept Oglethorpe 10-0 and 7-2 in a state playoff doubleheader on Tuesday after press time to advance to the second round. The No. 2 seeded Indians will play on the road if the No. 1 seed from the opposite bracket wins.

Where dreams come true

   Theater plays a role in nearly every realm of 17-year-old Lilly Kate Farrar’s life, and most recently it sent her on an all-expenses-paid trip to Disney World to attend the 2024 Disney Dreamers Academy, a leadership conference where students can choose a pathway in the career they hope to pursue.

Retail, residence combo in play for courthouse

   The redevelopment of the old courthouse in Clarkesville has been debated for more than a decade, but turning that site into a beautiful asset for the city is a dream that seems reachable now.

Scout builds bridge to ‘real world’ with Eagle award

   Trey Heumaneus is one of many Scouts in the Clarkesville Troop 5 program who is fully prepared for life, just like the motto says.    Heumaneus has been in Scouts since his Tiger den, and he recently achieved the rank of Eagle, the highest rank a Scout can reach.

   Wednesday’s cloudy afternoon did not stop the excitement at Fieldale Farms’ groundbreaking of a six acre solar farm at the intersection of Duncan Bridge Road and Gainesville Highway in Baldwin.

Raider tennis teams dance way into Sweet 16

   With a win to clinch their spot in the GHSA Sweet 16, the Habersham Central boys tennis team added another milestone to an increasingly successful spring in Raider athletics.    The boys breezed past Newnan in the first round matchup and advanced to take on Johns Creek next week.

   Tallulah Falls’ boys soccer team trounced Prince Avenue Christian 10-0 to advance to the Sweet 16 for the second consecutive season Wednesday night.
