Chenocetah Fire Tower to undergo beautification

The City of Cornelia Commissions board approved a beautification project proposed by an Eagle Scout to update the landscape at the Chenocetah Fire Tower during their Monday night meeting.

‘Old Man and the Old Moon’ starts Friday

"The Old Man and the Old Moon" will be performed at six different showings at the Sautee-Nacoochee Center this month. Shows will be March 11-12, and 18 at 7:30 p.m. and March 13, 19-20 at 2: p.m. in the Historic Gym.

No formal services are planned at this time for Sandra Lynn Allen, 72, of Cornelia. Mrs. Allen passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022. Born May 14, 1949, in Gainesville, she was the daughter of the late James Cleveland Allen and Florene McDonald Allen.

Teacher edits bestseller for ESL students

When Michelle Wilson, adult education English as SEcond Language (ESL) instructor at North Georgia Technical College, read the book “Foreign to Familiar” by Sarah A. Lanier, she knew it would serve as a guide to her ESL students as they tried to acclimate to culture in the United States.
