   After the Baldwin City Council approved an Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) system to monitor speeding and traffic violations last September, the system finally went live Tuesday for the first time in the 2020-21 school year.

   The Habersham EMC Board of Directors announced Bryan Ferguson as President and CEO this week. The decision comes after several months of reviewing resumes and conducting interviews.

Lady Raider volleyball rolling into region play

   After knocking off local powerhouse Jefferson in their last match, Habersham Central’s volleyball team kept the momentum rolling into Thursday night. The Lady Raiders avenged two early season losses to Gainesville and Lumpkin County to go 3-0 on the night.

Lady Raiders softball snaps skid against Lanier

   After dropping three region contests in a row, Habersham Central’s softball team ended its losing skid Thursday with a 6-3 victory over Lanier.     “To me, that’s a good win, and it puts us in the driver’s seat for the playoffs,” Lady Raiders’ head coach Bill Bradley said.

Tallulah Falls volleyball picking up wins, momentum

   After a weeklong break, Tallulah Falls volleyball team picked up where it left off by securing two victories over state-ranked Rabun and White counties Thursday night.    In the first match of the evening versus Class 3A No. 6 White County, the Lady Indians fell behind 14-11 to the Warriors.

Raiders plunder Madison County in opener

   After a pair of close games with Madison County over the last two years, Habersham Central left no doubt this time around.    The Raiders opened the 2020 season with a dominant performance in a 27-6 win Friday night at John Larry Black Field.

Habersham sees hits, misses on development projects

   While COVID-19 has made a noticeable impact on businesses across the state and U.S., Habersham County is seeing some new developments. The pandemic has potentially caused some halts on developments moving forward as well.
