Baldwin listens to resident's concerns about water, sewer connections

   The Baldwin City Council listened to concerns from resident Erik Keith regarding the connection fee for water and sewer.    Keith is planning to build a home on his 4 acre lot and noted the total price for connection for water and sewer adds up to over $7,000.

   After her niece was tragically killed in a traffic crash Wednesday night, Glenda Brito of Mt. Airy wants to know what really happened.    Georgia State Patrol reported that Stacey Lynn Cash, 21, of Lula was walking on Main Street near Lula City Hall around 7:30 p.m.

   After a decade of twists and turns, the city of Cornelia found a buyer for the old Cornelia Bank building downtown.    The NEMO, LLC company out of Clarkesville purchased the building Wednesday for $175,000, ending a 10-year search for a tenant.

   If you were watching “Botched” on E! Monday night you may have recognized the face of Cpl. Wesley Littlejohn of the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office.     Wesley won a spot on the plastic surgery show to remove a growth on his side that he had been dealing with since 2014.

   Logan Michael, 22, of Demorest was arrested Wednesday after a small fire burned the attic in a Demorest residence Tuesday night.

   The Habersham County middle school and high school students this week received a visit from Robert Hackenson, founder of Dynamic Influence. Visiting from Boston, Hackenson travels the country speaking on various informative topics and this week he focused on teen vaping and marijuana awareness.

   A single vehicle accident on State Route 365 in Demorest lead to Habersham County’s first traffic fatality of 2020 on the highway which produced five crashes in 24 hours last week.
The Habersham County Airport Commission approved this new location for the T-Hangar. It still needs approval from the County Commission.
