Caregiver respite coming soon to Lawton Place

   A Mother’s Rest Charitable Respite Foundation plans to soon offer a respite program in Mt. Airy for parents and caregivers.    AMR plans to have Lawton Place Manor, former home of baseball hall-of-famer Ty Cobb, serve as its second year-round respite inn location.

Georgia Power to increase rates in coming year

   Georgia Power customers can expect to see a rate increase next month and in the years to come following approval from the Public Service Commission, according to The Atlanta Journal Constitution.    This is a part of a three year rate plan which will also see increases in 2021 and 2022.

   Three tenants for retail chains have been identified to occupy the former Kmart building at Habersham Village shopping center in Cornelia, said Vanguard Associates Inc.
