Clarkesville Sip & Stroll: The next Sip & Stroll is Friday, Sept. 2, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in the Downtown Clarkesville entertainment district. This recurring event will take place on the first Friday of every month through October.

Mellichamp hit with more accusations

Revelations have emerged from an onslaught of federal court documents filed in early August in the Wainberg v. Piedmont University case, naming President James Mellichamp as party to more alleged misconduct.

‘True Southern lady’ mourned

Friends, officials and wellwishers statewide mourned the passing of former Georgia First Lady Sandra Deal this week. Deal, the wife of former Gov. Nathan Deal, died at her home in Demorest on Tuesday at age 80 of breast cancer that metastasized into brain cancer.
