Baldwin approves 165 townhouses

A 165-unit townhouse development in Baldwin now under construction is expected to be completed in the next 3-and-a-half years. City council members approved the development in a 4-1 vote at a special called meeting following Monday’s work session.

Pottery and arts festival coming Labor Day

The Folk Pottery Museum of Northeast Georgia presents the 14th annual Folk Pottery Show & Arts Festival Saturday, Sept. 3. It will be held on the grounds of the Sautee Nacoochee Center (SNC) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., where the museum is located.

Dozens of residents were evacuated after a commercial vehicle carrying “blasting agents” overturned on its side early Tuesday morning at Kellys Creek Road in Rabun Gap.

They just keep growing

In the spring, the voters passed the E-SPLOST again, a move that will help fund a growing school system. Superintendent Matthew Cooper announced Monday the elementary schools in Habersham County are up 189 students over last year on Day 2 of the new school year.
