Development Authority set to take bids on old courthouse

The Habersham County Development Authority will consider an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with Habersham County to facilitate the sale of the old courthouse property. The Development Authority’s next meeting is 3:30 p.m.

Airport flight school finally approved

Longtime airport tenant Michelle Curcio has finally been approved by the Habersham County Airport Commission for commercial use of airport facilities to operate a flight instruction school, pending approval by the county.

A town hall was held at the Community House Tuesday as county officials spent just under an hour engaging residents with varying perspectives of the proposed 1 cent sales tax.

Ag commissioner candidate visits area

Tyler Harper, Georgia State Senator for District 7 and Republican nominee for state agriculture commissioner, recently came to Rabun County and visited Osage Farms to talk about the importance of farming and discussed the struggles of farmers today.
