First responders are there for us when we need them most. Monday, Oct. 28 was National First Responder Day. Congress designated this day to honor these brave men and women in 2017.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5, and around two weeks remain for voters to become familiar with the candidates behind the names on the ballot. Many candidates running for municipal seats on councils and commissions are unopposed, prompting some elections to be canceled altogether.
