Protect the Constitution To the Editor: My husband passed away 10 years ago at the age of 82. He was a lifelong Republican which is unusual for our generation in the South. Born in the days of the Great Depression and its aftermath, we understood hard work and sacrifice.

We can do better

Of the 26,374 registered voters in Habersham County, only 3,864 participated in the general/special election held Tuesday. That means more than 85% of the registered voters in our community didn’t take the time to vote. They didn’t perform their most basic civic duty.
