Almost too late To the Editor: God’s judgement hand is on our land, His wrath is almost here. We’ve thrown God out of schools and jobs, don’t want him nowhere near. We’ve mocked and scorned His precious name, torn down our faith and hope.

End the cycle of violence

Listening to the police scanner in Habersham County can be a depressing experience. It’s not because our law enforcement officers are not doing an excellent job serving the public, because they are. And it’s not because there are rampant murders or horrendous gang violence plaguing our county.

As we polish off another decade, we prepare to once again take a national census of everyone in America. That seems like an extraordinary undertaking when you look at it from a big picture standpoint. If someone asked you to count how many apples you picked today, that does not seem that daunting.

Baldwin, county should come together

The last two weeks have been filled with back-and-forth jibes traded between Habersham County and the city of Baldwin over the latter’s plans to annex unincorporated areas.

Thanks from senior community To the Editor: Today I am thankful for the Habersham County Senior Center. The staff and volunteers served a Thanksgiving meal to a full house. The food was delicious but most rewarding was the feeling of community. The center offers something for every senior.

Shop Local alive and well

As Black Friday looms, it almost seems extinct as a concept. First, everyone has moved their binge deal shopping to Thanksgiving Night anyway. By the time Friday rolls around, everyone is sleeping off the previous night’s eating and pillaging.
