Corbetts stick together on, off court for Tallulah Falls

   For the Corbett family, basketball has always been a group effort.    Over the last two seasons, Katy Corbett has cemented herself as one of Tallulah Falls’ best on the hardwood all while taking guidance and leadership from her mother Brandy, the Lady Indians’ head coach.

Lady Raiders edge Lanier, boys fall by two

   In their first action since Dec. 5, Habersham Central’s girls basketball team snagged a 32-31 victory in their regional opener against Lanier.     “It was a real struggle early,” head coach Bill Bradley said.

YEAR IN SPORTS 2020: Pandemic could not stop fun year in local sports

   As ESPN would frame it with new analytics, their winning percentage in the middle of the second quarter was 0.4%. But that did not deter Habersham Central’s football team from a comeback for the ages.

Raider Champions League creates shooting stars

   Each Saturday at North Habersham Middle School (NHMS), the gym comes alive for a couple of hours with the sound of bouncing basketballs, whistles and cheers from the crowd while the Raider Champions League takes the court.

Raiders land 11 on all-region team

   Habersham Central’s Joshua Pickett was named Region 8-6A player of the year by the league’s coaches over the weekend, and his backfield mate Jackson Clouatre was named the top offensive player to help lead a group of 11 Raiders on the all-region team.

No. 9-ranked Tallulah Falls girls crush North Hall

   Tallulah Falls’ girls kept their strong recent play going Tuesday night with an 83-52 blowout win of North Hall.    The Lady Indians pulled off a comeback in the second quarter after being down six points in the first.

   Joshua Pickett has been locked in on continuing his football career and education at Duke University for a while. On Wednesday, he signed on the dotted line to make it official in front of friends, coaches, teachers and teammates at Habersham Central High School.

Clouatre commits to Berry College

   For many young athletes, signing a scholarship to play their sport in college is a dream that only a handful achieve. But for Jackson Clouatre, that dream has become a reality, as he recently announced his commitment to continue his athletic and academic career at Berry College in Rome.
