TFS girls win, boys fall to Towns County

A pair of valiant efforts resulted in a split of two games Tuesday as the Tallulah Falls School Lady Indians dismantled Towns County High School 62-29, while the Indians fell to Towns County 66-61 in Tallulah Falls.

The Tallulah Falls School (TFS) Lady Indians ran their win streak to three-consecutive games Tuesday with a 51-39 victory over the visiting Prince Avenue Christian School Lady Wolverines in Tallulah Falls. “It probably wasn’t our best game of the season, but I’m pleased,” said coach Brandy Corbett.

The Habersham Central High School Raiders can finally put a check mark in the region win column after defeating the visiting Apalachee High School Wildcats 47-35 Tuesday night in Mt. Airy. “Winning is hard and you have to learn how to win,” said coach Cody Anderson.

The Habersham Central High School Lady Raiders (10-9) ended their two-game losing skid Tuesday with a dominant 55-24 victory over the Apalachee High School Lady Wildcats (2-18) in Mt. Airy.

While it wasn’t the result they were looking for, the Habersham Central High School (HCHS) Wrestling Raiders have nothing to hang their heads about, as they finished 3-2 to place third in the area duals tournament over the weekend. “We knew going in that it was doable,” said coach Morris Brooks.

Lack of free-throws hurts Lady Raiders in losses

While not for a lack of effort, the Habersham Central High School Girls’ Basketball team suffered another pair of losses over the weekend, losing to Dacula High School 34-29 Friday night and Lanier High School 41-35 Saturday in Mt. Airy.
