Lady Raiders 3rd in Crown Mountain Cup

The Habersham Central High School Lady Raiders earned a third-place finish in the Crown Mountain Cup Friday after falling to the Lakeview Academy Lady Lions 3-1 in Dahlonega. “It wasn’t what we were hoping for,” said coach Jeff LaBarbera on the Lady Raiders’ loss to Lakeview.

Raiders fall in PK shootout

The Habersham Central High School Raiders saw their unbeaten streak snapped at the hands of the Lanier High School Longhorns Friday night in a penalty kick shootout at Raider Stadium in Mt. Airy. According to coach Ric Wallace, a shaky start by the Raiders ultimately cost them early in the match.

Diamond Raiders split pair; fall to North Forsyth, beat Franklin County

A pitchers’ duel in one game and a late-inning rally in another earned the Habersham Central High School Raiders a split in a pair of games last week as they lost to North Forsyth High School 3-0 Thursday and defeated Franklin County High School 6-4 Saturday.

HCHS Athletic Booster Club dinner/raffle set for March 14

The Habersham Central High School Athletic Booster Club will host the seventh annual dinner/raffle to benefit athletics March 14 in the school’s cafeteria. “It’s going to be a great time,” said Athletic Director Geep Cunningham. “It’s always a lot of fun.

Michaela Krippner hasn’t had the same kind of childhood others her age have had growing up. She’s dealt with medical issues since she was just a toddler and has experienced more hardships than most people endure in a lifetime, but that’s done nothing but make the 10-year-old from Mt. Airy stronger.

Penick nets hat-trick; Lady Raiders win 5-2

Addie Penick’s three-goal performance was a welcome sight in the eyes of Habersham Central High School Girls’ Soccer Coach Jeff LaBarbera Friday as the hat trick helped lead the Lady Raiders to a 5-2 victory over the visiting Dawson County High School Lady Tigers. “It was awesome,” said LaBarbera.

The Habersham Central High School Boys’ Soccer team improved its record to 3-0 Friday with a 3-1 victory over the Dawson County High School Tigers at Raider Stadium in Mt. Airy. “I think overall, we were pretty good,” said coach Ric Wallace.
