Demorest looking Glorious for holiday

Demorest is making final preparations to host the Glorious Fourth celebration on Monday, July 4. The weather includes some chance of rain, but it is not expected to be severe enough to disrupt the festivities.

County, cities hope to partner on road tax

Habersham County is set to move forward with a referendum for a Roads and Bridges Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) after a meeting with representatives from the municipalities on Tuesday night.

Longtime teacher moving on to new challenges

After two generations of teaching young Raiders, Krista Ivester is hanging up her nametag. The science teacher, who has a combined 30 years in education, has taught 9th to 12th grade at Habersham Central High School since the 90’s in a variety of subjects. “I taught pretty much all sciences.

Celebrating 85 years of agriculture support The Habersham County Farm Bureau Office at 3995 Camp Creek Road in Mt. Airy will host its 85 Years and Growing celebration from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, July 1. There will be popcorn, cake and peanuts for members.
