Baldwin set to lose 3 officers

Three of Baldwin’s five police officers have resigned, effective May 12, leaving the city in jeopardy of being dangerously shorthanded in their department. Interim Chief Matt Nall along with Officers Chad Suttles and Ryan Thomas gave their notice to the city Thursday.

White County resident Andy Negra stopped by to admire Joe Hatfield’s halftrack military vehicle in Clarkesville on Thursday, but it was hardly the first time he had seen one.
Demorest’s existing fire truck will be replaced by a new one at the end of 2021 now that the City Council has officially decided on its purchase. Demorest City Council made their selection of the new fire truck official Tuesday, which somehow was not the biggest fire department-related news of the night.

Raiders take fourth in region

Entering the Region 8-6A track meet, Habersham Central’s men’s team felt good about its chances to extend its season with a solid showing. And that’s just what the Raiders did, taking fourth over stiff competition to send several athletes to sectionals.
