Habersham Medical offers free drive-up COVID-19 testing Sunday

There will be free drive-up testing for COVID-19 provided Sunday by Habersham Medical Center and Habersham County Emergency Services.

The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office and the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) executed a Search Warrant at 215 Cornwall Place in Alto on Wednesday, resulting in the seizure of 160 grams of heroin.

Former Demorest chief told only that he was fired for 'performance issues'

After six days of wondering, former Demorest Police Chief Robin Krockum has received his separation notice regarding his unexpected termination Thursday, April 16.
The document provided by Krockum states the reason for separation was regarding performance issues.
