   Gov. Brian Kemp held a prayer service at the Georgia Capitol Monday morning as restaurants were given the green light to reopen amid ongoing concerns over coronavirus.    More than a dozen faith leaders, almost all from Christian churches, spoke inside the Capitol building.

Fieldale keeps adjusting to COVID-19 challenges

   Tom Hensley, President of Fieldale Farms Corp. said Thursday morning there are 40 employees positive with COVID-19 in their Cornelia Processing Plant with 1,600 employees.

ARDEO nabs massive amount of heroin in Alto

   The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office and the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) executed a Search Warrant at 215 Cornwall Place in Alto on Wednesday, resulting in the seizure of 160 grams of heroin.

Baldwin police chief leaving May 1

   Baldwin Police Chief Charles Webb announced his resignation Monday to the city council following an executive session for the city of Baldwin.    Webb thought it was best for his health and family to leave the department under new leadership.
