Paramedics, firefighters to get 2.75% raise

Habersham County’s Board of Commissioners approved a 2.75% raise for the county’s paramedics Monday and added new bonuses in an attempt to curb the trend of employees leaving for higher pay and other fields.    The raises will take effect March 1 and will be for paramedics and firefighters.

Rachel Loudermilk married young, but she already knew she wanted to be a mom.    She was 19 when she and her husband John tied the knot, and the Clarkesville residents have been together six years now.
The Regional African American Museum was founded as a nonprofit organization in 2010 to preserve the rich cultural heritage of communities who attended The Cornelia Regional Colored High School on Elrod Street in Cornelia (pictured above, circa 1959); an “equalization,” separate-and-unequal, school. It was built and maintained by Boards of Education in Banks, Habersham, Rabun and White Counties from 1955-1966.

Census raises hourly pay for workers to $19

Members of the Complete Count Committee were surprised to see the hourly wage increase to $19 while they were discussing the need for employment at their Tuesday meeting. It had been raised from $17 per hour.
