‘Mistake’ leaked Trump docs early

In the wake of the indictments in Fulton County of former President Donald Trump, questions have been flying about a copy of the indictments that were leaked earlier Monday before the grand jury completed its deliberation.

Demorest close on major projects

Demorest has two of its major projects coming together, including its new municipal conference center. The auditorium at city hall – which was the old Demorest Elementary School – is almost fully transformed into the new meeting center for the city.

‘Last Dance’ celebrates popular community event

After many successful years, the Circle of Hope’s Dancing with the Stars for Hope fundraising event ended on Aug. 12 with a Gala held at Ogletree Estates.

Raiders look to get even with Stephens

There’s no beating around the bush – tonight’s game is a big one. Not only is this week permanently circled on both programs’ calendars, it’s also the kickoff to a new season. It’s big for another reason, too.

Lady Raiders still hunting a win

The Lady Raiders struggled to keep pace with Hart County on the road as Habersham fell 9-3 to the Lady Bulldogs. Senior pitcher Hannah Odum was again on the mound for the Lady Raiders (0-4), but struggled with walking Hart hitters. Odom walked 5 and allowed 14 hits in her 6-inning outing.

TFS moves rebooted softball program to JV stage for 2023

The softball program at Tallulah Falls began its re-implementation last season. Several girls  came out and participated in a summer camp, practiced, and polished off the season with a  scrimmage.

Public meetings

The following public meetings are scheduled from Aug. 18-24. Habersham County Commission 5 p.m. work session, 6 p.m. regular meeting Monday, Aug. 21, at the county courthouse in Clarkesville, 295 Llewellyn Street.

Airy, family members of the late Richie Alford, who died earlier this year saving two drowning swimmers in Florida, are presented with framed pictures of Richie when he participated in the Battle of the Heroes in previous years. Family members holding pictures include Richie’s wife Pam Alford, stepson Bill Redmon and sister Kimberly McDaniel. Heroes honor their hero

Sonya Hix smiled Saturday night, as folks at Raider Stadium were remembering those who have been lost. Her son Easton passed away in a car accident in 2012, but Hix said she knows he is looking down on all of us. “I know he’s there smiling because of the Raider sunset,” Hix said.
