Raider wins Farm Bureau art contest

Habersham County graduate Arianna Ramirez has been named a district winner in the 28th Annual Georgia Farm Bureau (GFB) High School Art Contest. Her drawing can be viewed at www.gfb.ag/ramirezart.

County passes $66M budget

Habersham County Commissioners approved what Finance Director Tim Sims called one of the “strangest” budgets he had ever seen on Monday night to meet the deadline of June 30 to do so. But they are not 100 percent sure where all the money is coming from just yet.

‘Sticking together’

Portia Burns was smiling ear to ear to have the Juneteenth event back in Cornelia on Saturday. She wanted everyone who came out for the community event to know that this kind of expression and fellowship was crucial to maintaining the freedoms won on that historic day in 1865.

Summer fun planned all over Habersham County

The cities of Habersham County are putting on a ton of community events this summer. Plenty is going on this summer in the Clarksville area, starting with the Kids on Wheels event on Saturday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
