COVID-19 stays low in Habersham County schools after first three weeks in session

Habersham County Schools reported 11 cases of COVID-19 in Monday’s report on active cases in the system.
Schools have been open since Sept. 8, and nine of the 11 cases are students, but no school has more than two positive cases.

'Overreach' killed Baldwin's updated charter

Despite its council approving a resolution for a new city charter at its Jan. 13 meeting, the city’s new charter has yet to be approved by state’s legislature due to an “inadvertent overstep” by Mayor Joe Elam.
