Harassment cannot stand
To the editor:
I want to thank former Habersham County Clerk Lindsay Underwood for having the courage to air the harassment that’s been happening at the Habersham County Commission office.
As we raced to get the Wednesday edition of The Northeast Georgian on the street, an error occurred in the pressroom. Normally, you would not have seen this error, but it has not been a normal week for your local newspaper. And we would like to explain.
Last summer, we did not have much of a summer. We stayed indoors and watched “Tiger King” and were reminded just how great Michael Jordan was in “The Last Dance.”
This year, summer is back for real, and we are ready to enjoy ourselves outdoors once again.
But that does not come without peril.
Commandments are our house rules
To the editor:
Most of us grew up under parental-imposed house rules. At first, it was “Pick up your toys.” As we grew, we had to set the table, rake and mow the yard.
Demorest’s City Council recently added a second public comment session to its meeting agendas, one before business is conducted and one afterward.
The council, which has been trying to restore decorum to its meetings in recent months, has largely succeeded so far.
Willful ignorance gun control
To the editor:
I have determined that there are basically two categories of ignorance. There is genetic ignorance. This can be usually improved with education. Also, there is willful ignorance.
