Gathering once again

Most of our events lost to COVID-19 in 2020 have come back this year, including last week’s Chattahoochee Mountain Fair. The fair brought a lot of folks to Habersham County and provided a week’s worth of entertainment, despite challenges dealing with the virus and the weather.

Government should not interfere

We have written several times about being in favor of taking the COVID-19 vaccine. We believe in the science and we believe it is helping save lives.

Keep HOPE alive

Thirty years ago, it was kicked like a football on Saturday. Some were for a lottery in Georgia and many more were not. The Georgia Lottery was finally formed in November of 1992. However, our native students all hit the jackpot when then-Gov.

No kickbacks from Big Pharma

We get all kinds of feedback from the community in the newspaper business, which frankly is what it’s all about anyway. We want the community to comment on what we say and do, and in fact, we have had a monster week for letters and we appreciate it.

Trying to understand To the editor: Apparently, my letters are a bit caustic at times. I will always remember the woman’s call suggesting that reading my letters gave her a headache. In an effort to be helpful, I suggested that she not read my letters. Her headache apparently worsened.

Honor those we have lost in service

It is an absolute step in the right direction that Habersham County contracted Ammons Grave Restoration out of Cleveland to do cleanup and restoration services at the Killed in Action (KIA) Memorial in Clarkesville.
