   We had the warnings going into the weekend.    There would be low humidity, winds, and dry vegetation.    The weather was perfect for fires, and ones that could spread quickly. Just the smallest spark had the potential to cause something major.

Trump and Ukraine To the editor:    It’s hard to believe we have a President who believes Russia can invade Ukraine then keep part of Ukraine territory.    If Russia came across the Bering Strait and invaded Alaska would it be OK for Russia to keep part of Alaska?

A home of seven plus two eggs

   After supper on Sunday night, my life changed. Well, at least for the next 50 or so days, but the memory will follow me forever. A new responsibility was laid in the hands of William and Fenn as the noise of vehicles roaring northeast and southeast on I-85 filled the air.

   Thumbs up to our Habersham Central Raiders basketball teams. The boys team finished their season in the Elite Eight Wednesday night, while the girls made it to the Sweet 16. • Thumbs up to the Raiders wrestling team.

   We were looking for something to watch this weekend, and I suggested Star Wars. When my son, who has every word of Revenge of the Sith memorized (I wish that was an exaggeration) selected that episode, I realized I needed to be more specific.    “No, A New Hope,” I told him.

   Earlier this week, Postmaster General Louis DeJoy announced his intention to step down from the position, and we couldn’t be more pleased.    His mismanagement of the U.S.
