   After 57 years of Valentine’s Day celebrations, I’ve learned that there’s one element that must be in the equation of a long-lasting relationship. Humor isn’t the only factor, but I believe that it’s essential in the mix.    For a case in point, let’s go back 30 years.

   Wow.    What an amazing weekend, and it’s all thanks to football.    It started Friday night with the Night to Shine event, where Level Grove was one of 821 churches to host the annual worldwide event.

Thankful for sheriff’s department To the editor:    On Jan. 2, vandals broke the doors and windows of our church. An alarm sounded and Habersham County deputies responded quickly and secured the building, making sure that it was safe to enter.

Giving students access to news literacy

   In the past two months, we’ve received and printed a couple of letters to the editor from students in our schools. One was Joanne, a second grader at Cornelia Elementary, and the most recent was David Quintal, a senior at Habersham Central High School.

Expecting the unexpected makes the unexpected expected

   One of the great benefits of living on a small farm is the freedom. There’s freedom to work as much or as little as you wish. The catch?  You reap what you sow. And if you maintain a garden or field with any particular crop, you’ll reap what you didn’t sow as well.
