   This week is a great time to reflect on the past year and all we’ve accomplished or wished to accomplish.    That’s one reason why we’re highlighting stories and photos from the past year in this edition.    It also helps us all create better resolutions, or goals, for the new year ahead.

   With 2024’s close, a quarter of the years beginning with “20” are now complete. For those of us who remember the flip from the 1900s to the 2000s, it’s hard to believe so much time has passed.

Kindness is still here; just look in your own neighborhood

   If you, like me, sometimes think that members of the human race have been vaccinated against kindness, we’re both wrong. It’s still here. We just need to turn away from all the hate and discord around us—and in our nation’s capital—and look for the goodness in people.
