Vote like it’s 2016

The voter turnout in Habersham County in the 2016 presidential election was more than 80%, an incredible mark that really showed the level of interest in who our 45th president would be. Three years later, the special runoff election for District 5 county commissioner in December 2019 drew 8%.

SPLOST is needed

There have been plenty of questions lately about Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) revenues for Habersham County and its municipal partners, and it was well-documented at the May 19 political forum that the county budget would be in trouble without those funds.
