Pickleball club states its case for new courts

Pickleballers from all over the county gathered at Monday’s Habersham County budget hearing to plead their case for new courts that were eliminated from the proposed budget for 2021-22.

TFS names Satterfield head golf coach

After leading the Indians’ middle school golf program for the last two years, Tallulah Falls named Hannah Satterfield its new varsity golf coach.  Satterfield takes over for former head coach Allen Campbell, who retired following the 2021 season.

Raiders send 10U all-stars to state

Despite rain at the end of last week, the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association (GRPA) District 7 All-Star Baseball tournaments wrapped up around Northeast Georgia last weekend with the Raiders sending one team to the state tournament and two more taking top-three finishes.

Hamilton elevated to lead TFS girls hoops

Tallulah Falls School didn’t have to go far to find their next girls basketball coach, as TFS announced former junior varsity boys coach Lowell Hamilton has been chosen to lead the Lady Indians.

Raiders back on the field for summer football workouts

Many people take the summer as a time for rest and relaxation, but that's not the case for the Habersham Central Raider football team, who took the field Monday to begin their summer workout program in preparation for the 2021 season.  "It's good to be back.

HCHS, TFS produce stellar crop of college signees

Throughout the 2020-21 school year, both Habersham Central and Tallulah Falls' athletic departments have experienced great success.

Local colleges aim to recruit local students through initiatives

Both North Georgia Technical College (NGTC) and Piedmont University are located in Habersham County, and they also aim to recruit in the community, as each school employs an array of programs, strategies and outreach efforts intended to attract local students within the county.
