Baseball all-star teams in postseason action this week

The Habersham County Youth Baseball and Softball (HCYBS) All-Star teams are scheduled to begin their postseason play this week, as the baseball teams will begin their Georgia Recreation and Park Association (GRPA) district tournaments Wednesday and Thursday.

Softball finishes with top-25 ranking

After a stellar season, Piedmont University's softball team finished the season ranked No. 18 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association's national poll. The end-of-season ranking marks the first time the Lady Lions have been ranked in the top 25 to close a season.

Piedmont sees three baseball players earn postseason awards

Over the past week, Piedmont University’s baseball team has seen three players bring home various recognitions for their performances in the 2021 season.

Tallulah Falls School’s esports team successful in second season

In just its second year of existence, Tallulah Falls' esports team has already surpassed the expectations of many and begun making a name for itself on a statewide stage.
Since it began six years ago, the Habersham County Pickleball Club meets multiple times each week at the Aquatic Center tennis courts to play pickup games. Habersham Countians of all ages enjoying pickleball

Over the past few years, pickleball has turned into one of the fastest growing sports in the country. And over the past six years, the Habersham County Pickleball Club (HCPC) has done its part to help spread the game throughout the county and Northeast Georgia.

In sports circles, a gamer is defined as someone who elevates their game when the stakes are highest. And that’s exactly how Truett McConnell head women’s golf coach Steve Patton described Kiley Blackburn’s performance at the NAIA National Championships last weekend.

Hall, Jackson earn all-state golf honors

Tallulah Falls’ standout golfers picked up some individual honors early this week, as both Brinson Hall and Maggie Jackson were named to the Georgia High School Golf Coaches’ Association’s (GHSGCA) All-State team.
