Habersham volleyball seeks return to playoffs

The Habersham Central volleyball team begins the 2021 season Tuesday, using intangible strength to rebuild toward a playoff return, despite currently having an undecided rotation. “We are really just learning to play together,” Raiders coach Lindsay Herrin said.

Lady Raiders open softball season at home

   One rough inning helped sour Habersham Central’s opening softball game of the year.    The Lady Raiders overcame an early deficit Thursday, before some fourth inning errors resulted in White County’s 8-4 win, the Warriors’ first win on the road against the Raiders since 2016.

It’s that time once again

Habersham Central had its first padded football practice Monday after a five-day acclimation, officially beginning the process of replacing a backfield tandem that combined for 2,908 rushing yards in 2019 and returning to a typical schedule, following 2020’s COVID-19 adjustments.

Pit Vipers take top 5 finish in Indiana

The Pit Vipers traveled to Bloomington, Indiana, for the B-Town Hot Summer Nights Barbeque and Music Festival, a Kansas City Barbecue Society competition.

Lady Raiders eye shot at third-straight playoff run

With each season’s schedule being riddled with matchups against softball powerhouses like Buford and Dacula, it’s an extremely tall task finding success on a diamond for teams in Region 8-6A like Habersham Central.

Summer swim team wraps first season

Bringing to a close the inaugural summer swim league season, two dozen athletes celebrated with a shark-themed meet on July 16.  Natatorium Director Katie Ralston engaged the help of youth coaches and lifeguards to add a festive touch to the new swim facility.
