Raiders riding high, ready for Buford

   Habersham Central is riding momentum from a big win into Friday night’s game against Buford, a longtime Georgia powerhouse who is in the Raiders’ region for the first time.    “They are a good football team every year,” Raiders coach Benji Harrison said.

Raiders set to take the long and Winder road seeking third win

   Habersham Central goes back out on the road tonight to try and right the ship after opening the season with two wins, then falling the last two weeks to even their record heading into regional play.

   Junior Captain Evan Prince represented Tallulah Falls School with a 5K school record 15:42.

Lady Raiders clinch softball playoff berth

   Habersham Central’s softball team locked up a state playoff spot and moved into third place in Region 8-6A with a 5-1 win over Winder-Barrow.     Monday night, HCHS’ offense got rolling early, as a RBI double from Hailey Wade put the first run on the board for the Lady Raiders (17-11, 7-7).

Stephens County pulls away from Habersham County late

   The Habersham Central Raiders couldn’t defend bragging rights for Currahee Mountain last Friday night.    After winning the showdown with the Stephens County Indians for the first time since 1996 last season, Habersham fell 27-12 in Toccoa.

Lady Indians volleyball secures No. 2 seed with win

   Before practice on Monday, Tallulah Falls (15-12, 4-1) head volleyball coach Matt Heyl said the team met for its usual player-led meeting. Though the meetings are always serious, Heyl said this one took on a different tone ahead of the Lady Indians’ matchup with Prince Avenue for the No.

Lady Raiders split non-region matches as tourney looms

   Habersham Central’s volleyball team earned a split in Tuesday night’s tri-match against two state-ranked opponents.     In the night’s opening match, the Lady Raiders fell to Class 3A No. 3 Morgan County 2-1.

Raiders hope to make it two straight against Stephens County

   After a 23-year wait to defeat Stephens County before last year’s win, Habersham Central is hoping the Indians have to wait a little longer for their next victory in the series.

OSBORNE: No time for Raiders to hang their heads

   Last Friday’s game had everything – big plays, big crowds, a little fog and two good football teams.    Habersham Central lost its unbeaten status after the loss to White County, but we knew someone was going to.
