Little League spring season cancelled

   After making every effort to find a way to play its spring season starting June 1, Habersham County Little League was finally forced to accept the heartbreaking truth that it will not be possible.

Irvin looks to build on early success

Piedmont baseball has always been a part of Peyton Irvin’s life.  Growing up in Cornelia, he attended Piedmont baseball games with his family as a kid and played four years for Habersham Central High School, graduating in 2019.

April 17 should’ve been Senior Night for Habersham Central’s baseball team, where each of the team’s five seniors would have been honored for the years of hard work and dedication they have given to their team before playing in the last home game of their high school careers.

Habersham County Little League hoping for June 1 start to season

   Habersham County Little League officials have decided on a target date of June 1 to hopefully begin a long-delayed season and bring some joy to the lives of hundreds of local youngsters.    “We’re going for it,” Habersham Little League President Christan Tanner said.

Tallulah Falls School hires new soccer coach for new era

   Jeremy Stille has been tapped to lead Tallulah Falls School’s soccer program into a new era, as the Indians are moving into Georgia High School Association competition for the spring season in 2021.

Habersham County Little League still hopes to play

   Any fan of old baseball movies remembers the crowd chanting “Let Them Play!” in “Bad News Bears: Breaking Training.”    That same chant is going on in the heads of many in the community as hopes for playing Little League Baseball are still flickering amid the COVID-19 shutdown.

Tallulah Falls senior signs to play baseball at Brevard College

   Tallulah Falls School senior Davis Jennings of Clarkesville on April 2 signed a letter of intent to compete in baseball for the Brevard College Tornados in Brevard, N.C.     “We are very excited to have Davis as a Tornado,” said Brevard College baseball coach Mike Victory.
