The Lady Indians took a quick win over Lakeview on Tuesday night to advance to the Region 4-AAA Championship, where they fell in a three-set thriller to No. 4-ranked Loganville Christian. In the Lakeview match, TFS won 19-25, 25-11, 15-12.

There are over a dozen different scenarios that could take shape in the Region 8-5A volleyball standings as teams embark on their final week of regular season play. One thing is certain though, and that’s that three squads are clearly better than the region’s bottom four.

The Winder-Barrow football team made an early statement in its game against Habersham Central last Saturday. In fact, after just 4 minutes and 10 seconds, the Bulldoggs (4-2, 2-0 Region 8-5A) had jumped out to a 15-0 lead. But the Habersham offense was ready to tango, too.

The Habersham Central volleyball team hosted a couple region opponents Tuesday in Mount Airy. The Lady Raiders (21-9, 6-2 Region 8-5A) trounced Clarke Central 25-17, 25-17 in an early matchup, but were unable to get past Loganville later in the evening.
