Habersham volleyball eyes more wins this week

   Entering play last Thursday, the Habersham Central volleyball team was riding high following wins in 9 of their last 10 matches. That changed Thursday night in Gainesville, however, as the Lady Raiders (9-7) came back to earth with losses to Gainesville High School and Chestatee.

Raiders welcome Warriors Friday

   Habersham Central hasn’t played a game at home since October 20, 2023. That drought will end when the Raiders welcome rival White County to Mount Airy on Friday.    The homecoming is a welcome sight for a club that needs a win as badly as the Raiders do.    “Are you okay with being 0-2?

Know better, do better

   The Raiders are finally back in the JLB tonight after what’s been a disastrous start to the 2024 campaign. There’s no way to sugarcoat how last week went other than, despite having about as bad of an opening quarter as a team could possibly have, Habersham still had a chance to win that game.

Lady Raiders stay hot, pick up pair of road wins

   The Habersham Central volleyball team just keeps winning. Since their 0-4 start to the year, the Lady Raiders have gone 10-1. They added 2 more victories Tuesday night at Banks County High School, where they took down Union County (25-19, 25-21) and the Lady Leopards.

Raiders suffer another setback, drop to 0-2

   The Flowery Branch Falcons mustered just 2 points in their season opening loss to Jackson County on Aug. 16. But just 3 minutes and 14 seconds into this past Friday’s game against Habersham Central, they had tripled that point total...and then some.

Habersham content creator lands gig at Georgia Tech

   As Georgia Tech took down no. 10 Florida State in Week 0’s main attraction game, the GT media team was busy behind the scenes, pumping out content to hype their big win.

Habersham volleyball ‘keeping things simple’

   The volleyball teams from Hart, White, and Lumpkin Counties descended on Mount Airy last Thursday for an action-packed night in Raider Gymnasium.    A strong Habersham Central squad was looking to stay hot, after winning 6 straight matches heading into Thursday evening’s play.

Raiders take aim at Falcons

     The last time Habersham Central and Flowery Branch faced each other on the gridiron, the teams were in the same region - and Flowery Branch had a coach by the name of Benji Harrison. The schools have faced each other twice, and both times (2010, 2011) FBHS dominated the Raiders.

Improve and advance

   Most sports fans are familiar with the phrase ‘survive and advance.’ It’s usually used during tournaments like March Madness, when the objective is to win at all costs. No matter how ugly the job is, what counts is getting the job done.

Raider Roundup

Volleyball    The Habersham Central volleyball team is officially on a roll.    Despite starting the season 0-4, the Lady Raiders have dominated their way back to a 6-4 overall record so far. On Tuesday night, Habersham took down Franklin County (25-14, 25-12) and Banks County.
