Census gathering now set to end Thursday

   A Supreme Court ruling on Tuesday has now determined that the Trump Administration can end the 2020 Census count and field operations on Thursday, Oct. 15 according to a report from The Associated Press.

Raiders set to take the long and Winder road seeking third win

   Habersham Central goes back out on the road tonight to try and right the ship after opening the season with two wins, then falling the last two weeks to even their record heading into regional play.

Breast cancer survivor looks to educate, save others

   Early mammograms might have prevented Angela Turk from undergoing multiple surgeries and chemotherapy before she was 40. So she is now dedicated to ensuring women (and men) have the opportunity to detect the disease early.

SPLOST funds help Dicks Hill Parkway get a facelift

   Mt. Airy Town Manager and Police Chief Tim Jarrell informed the mayor and council of multiple ongoing SPLOST projects during their Monday night meeting.     The greatest expenditure is the road paving of 1.5 miles of Dicks Hill Parkway and a half-mile of the Russell Woods Subdivision.

Halloween gatherings still a scary prospect in COVID-19 times

   Two of Habersham County’s largest Halloween events have been called off due to the lingering COVID-19 pandemic, while others will go forward as planned.
