If you tell a good story, you might well be a Southerner

If you Google something like “Southern storytellers,” you can read comments that cover everything from why Southerners tell you more than you want to know when you ask a question to why folks in these parts have a love affair with Duke’s mayonnaise.

Protect our children

April is National Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month. And for more than a decade, we have placed pinwheels on our front pages in April to add focus to efforts to protect our most vulnerable residents. Abuse takes many forms, including physical, sexual, verbal, emotional and neglect.

The forgiveness of God

Forgiveness is who God is! It’s His nature. That’s what He does! He is willing and ready to forgive any iniquity, any rebellion, and any sin. He is a God of forgiveness. Let’s begin with the God of forgiveness. God is a forgiving God. That is His nature. It is who He is.

Seeking new leaders

It is getting tougher and tougher to find folks who want to serve on governmental boards. No one even filed to run against three Board of Education members and District 2 County Commissioner Dustin Mealor, which on the one hand might indicate that residents think they are doing a good job as it is.
