Shall we play a game?

We have more than enough video games in our house, and even though our kids are only allowed to play those games on Friday afternoons and weekends, it is hard to forget how many gaming options they have.

There are 31 million small businesses in the U.S., which roughly make up around 99 percent of all the businesses in the country. These businesses – not the big-time conglomerates – are the ones that keep our communities running. They are the ones that are highlighted during Small Business Week.

The sixth renewal of the Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (ESPLOST) is on the primary ballot for May 24, and passing it is vital to the continued success of the Habersham County School system.

Why have we stopped asking why?

To the editor: To give you an example, I have seen in the news for over two or more years, street racing in Atlanta and the people in authority keep trying to decide what to do about the problem. Along with the word why comes the word what. What is the problem? Arrest them and confiscate the car.

Georgia – for richer, or poorer

Florida leads Georgia in the rankings for 2022. So does (gulp) Tennessee. Relax, fellow Bulldogs. I’m not talking about college football, nor do I mean the Gators or the Volunteers. Instead, I refer to projections for how each state’s economy is expected to perform in the coming years.

‘Reality’ slightly warped by TV shows

Reality TV is the worst … unless it’s the best. To be more clear, a lot of reality television is absolutely terrible, mainly because it is an absolute misnomer. Most of it is actually quite scripted, or at least set up for specific situations with predictable results.
