Raiders to scrimmage Flowery Branch tonight

Habersham Central’s football team takes the field tonight for the first time since November for its spring game against Flowery Branch.  The Raiders finished the 2020 season 6-5 overall and 4-2 in region play to finish third and make their second playoff appearance under Harrison.

Former Raiders prove Berry successful

Last spring, former Raiders Tarin Westbrook and Garrett Kinsey didn’t know the 2020 football season would be unlike any he’d ever experienced.    “The pandemic wasn’t normal, and people were very unsure, including myself, about what would happen,” said Westbrook.

The Raider wrestling team held a joint banquet celebrating this year’s team and last year’s seniors who were not able to have one due to the COVID-19 shutdown.

For Parker Behrends, it was the welcoming, family atmosphere that pulled him to Berry College.  “They kind of reached out to me, and as soon as I got there it was immediately welcoming. That was the main decision,” Behrends said.

Anderson steps down as Raider boys hoops coach

Cody Anderson resigned as Habersham Central’s boys’ basketball coach after two seasons leading the Raiders.   Anderson officially stepped aside Tuesday after meeting with HCHS’ administration Monday afternoon.
