Raiders trounce Central Gwinnett in region series

   Habersham Central’s baseball team positioned themselves for a possible region sweep of Central Gwinnett with a 13-3 road win on Wednesday night.    The Raiders scored early and often, culminating with a seven-run fifth inning that eventually helped unite the mercy rule after six.

Raider soccer teams sweep Winder-Barrow

   Habersham Central’s girls soccer team is hitting its stride at a good time.    The Lady Raiders punctuated their recent strong play with a dominant 6-1 win over Winder-Barrow on Tuesday night.

   When Piedmont College’s 2020 baseball season was canceled last March, then-freshman standout Peyton Irvin used a single word to describe the feeling for himself and the team – disappointed.

Tallulah Falls baseball splits with Rabun Gap

   Rabun Gap entered last Saturday afternoon’s doubleheader at Tallulah Falls at .500, and the Indians two games above that. They both stayed that way after a split.     Trent Thomas’ six strong innings highlighted Tallulah’s 8-5 win in the opener, despite the Indians being outhit.

8U girls win state championship

   Habersham County’s 8U All-Star team won the Georgia Recreation and Park Association (GRPA) Class B state championship Saturday, as they used a big fourth quarter to sprint past the all-stars from Barrow County 27-14.

Raiders rally against Dacula, crush Central Gwinnett in opener

   The Habersham Central Raiders baseball team exploded in a 16-3 win Monday against Central Gwinnett, which ended after 4 ½ innings due to the GHSA run rule. In only four innings of offense, the Raiders tallied 11 hits, 11 RBIs and six walks.

Tallulah Falls baseball keeps hot start going

   Tallulah Falls’ baseball team continued its hot streak Wednesday, crushing the Riverside Military Academy Eagles 12-4 for the third win in their first four games of the season. Starting pitcher Aiden Gragg pitched a complete game, allowing two earned runs and tallying seven strikeouts.

Errors doom Raiders in loss to Dacula

   Coming off a dramatic extra-inning win in their region opener on Monday, Habersham Central’s baseball team couldn’t keep the momentum rolling Wednesday, falling 12-3 to Dacula.     “I think the key is we’ve got to learn how to experience success.

Lady Raiders wrap successful season with Sweet 16 loss

   Despite advancing to the Sweet 16 in the state tournament for the second time in school history, the Lady Raiders’ run in the state playoffs ended at Kell last Friday with a 50-32 defeat.    “We knew they were a good team going down there,” Lady Raiders head coach Bill Bradley said.
