By Landen ToddThe Tallulah Falls School hosted its baseball summer youth camp for rising third to eighth graders at Higgins Baseball Complex on June 1-3.TFS baseball camp involved fundamental skill instruction as well as games and competitions. Campers received a snack each day.

By Landen ToddThe rainy weather did not stop Habersham Central High School from holding its youth football summer camp on May 26-28 at Raider Stadium.Over the days, the youth had fun learning the fundamentals of football and rotated through each drill, led by the Raiders coaching staff.

By Landen ToddHabersham County Pickleball Club hosted its fourth annual PickleSham Palooza on May 1-2.This year’s tournament drew 139 players, ranging in age from 14-75, who competed in 258 matches over the two-day event.

By Landen ToddHabersham Central already looked strong after wrecking the Lions during its scrimmage at Raider Stadium on Friday, May 15. The Raiders reached 40 points by the end of the third quarter, while the Lions had only one field goal.

Lady Raiders make ready for state championship

By Landen ToddThe Habersham Central girls’ golf team has been preparing for the state championship after taking home the Area Championship on April 20. The Lady Raiders will battle it out in 36 holes at Jekyll Island against 11 other teams for the state championship on May 18-19.

By Landen ToddThe Tallulah Falls boys soccer team (16-1) held on for a 4-3 win against the Trojans (5-8) in the GIAA state playoffs at Amick Field on Friday, May 8. TFS has won 16 straight.The Indians were in control, holding a 4-0 lead with 20 minutes left in the match.

Senior Meg LaBarbera was named first team and Midfielder of the Year, Senior Eden Turner earned first team, senior goal keeper Kelsie Campbell was named second team and junior Madi Wilbanks made second team all-region.
