Raiders blast Warriors, stay perfect

The high-flying Habersham Central boys basketball team welcomed rival White County to Mt. Airy on Tuesday night. The Warriors managed to keep things close much of the evening until, finally, the Raiders unleashed a beast of a fourth quarter to pull away and win by a wide 27-point margin, 84-57.

Strong Hab showing at Cheer Bowl

Habersham County Parks and Recreation had five squads participate in the North Georgia Youth Football Association Cheer Bowl and the Big Red Cheer Classic this fall. Competitions host squads from all over Northeast Georgia, as teams perform and show off their skills.

Lee County tops Habersham in State playoffs

Habersham Central's 2024 football season came to an end Friday night in South Georgia as top-seeded Lee County rolled past the Raiders, 47-7. "We knew we were in for a hard one tonight," said HCHS Coach Benji Harrison. "We knew they were a really talented football team.

Raiders take on one of state’s best

   For the second straight season, the Habersham Central football team is set to hit the road for their opening round matchup in the GHSA State Playoffs.    This time around, one of Georgia’s preeminent programs awaits as the Raiders (4-6) travel below the gnat line to face Lee County (10-0).

Tough weekend tests await Hab Hoops

   Both Habersham Central varsity basketball squads are set to face formidable opponents Saturday as part of the 2024 Kyle Sandy Shootout.    Coach Bill Bradley’s Lady Raiders (0-1) tip-off at 6 p.m. against Union County in Mt. Airy.

Tribe hoops teams start season strong

Boys    Everyone got involved, early and often Tuesday as the Tallulah Falls boys basketball team cruised past Fideles Christian in blowout fashion, 81-62.    Playing in throwback uniforms in their old gym, TFS flexed the power of the current and future lineups.

Corbett keeps making beach history

Last spring, Tallulah Falls alum and current Mercer University beach volleyball standout Katy Corbett helped make history. Alongside partner Liv Diaz, the duo posted the most individual wins for a season in program history.

Piedmont’s Erin Donovan caps strong fall season

Piedmont University’s Erin Donovan was named the USA South Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week on Wednesday. The honor comes after Donovan claimed the individual title at the Chick-Fil-A Invitational earlier this week in Rome. The Southaven, Miss.

TFS Hoops season is here

Boys In what was a big of a rebuild last season, the Indians still made a postseason run, marking a fifth straight playoff appearance. In total, Tallulah Falls’ record was 7-22, but several young players garnered significant varsity minutes. That experience aims to pay dividends this season.
