Georgia hosts N.C. State in super regional

   After sweeping their way through the Athens Regional last weekend, the University of Georgia baseball team will play host to N.C. State for the NCAA Super Regionals matchup this weekend. The best-of-three series begins at noon Saturday at UGA’s Foley Field.

Raiders sweating it out this summer

   Amid steamy conditions, the Habersham Central football team hit the turf Monday for Day 1 of what the program calls its “summer sacrifice” practice schedule.    “We’ve been calling it that ever since I got here,” said Coach Benji Harrison. “That’s exactly what it is … a sacrifice.

Georgia marches on to Super Regional

   The University of Georgia baseball team is heading to the NCAA Super Regionals for the first time since 2008, after the Bulldogs took care of rival Georgia Tech 8-6 in a 4 hour, 7 minutes extra innings affair Sunday night.

Lady Raiders get started on new hoops era

   For the first time in several years, the Habersham Central girls basketball team embarks on its offseason without a clear leader.    The Kyia Barrett Era officially came to an end when the Anderson University bound standout graduated last week.

Habersham hoops camps almost here

   The 2024 HCHS Women’s Basketball Skills Camp takes place June 3-6. The camp will take place on campus from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday and is geared towards girls entering grades 3 thru 8.

Three county athletes earn BLITZ honors

New wave of ‘Next-Level Indians’ sign for college

   Twelve student-athletes from Tallulah Falls School were celebrated for signing to play their respective sports at the collegiate level on Thursday, May 23.    According to TFS Athletic Director Scott Neal, this group of spring signees is the most the school has had signed in one year.

What a year it was in sports

   There’s no arguing with the facts. In terms of collective athletic success, the 2024 spring sports season was the most fruitful season in Habersham Central history. In fact, the 2023-24 academic year as a whole is right up there in the books as well.

Tribe signs off on historic 2024 season

   Just a few days removed from its return from the GHSA state championship in Statesboro, the Tallulah Falls baseball team held its end of season banquet Tuesday night at the school.    TFS President and Head of School Dr. Larry Peevy took the podium first to address the team.
