How will we judge post-COVID school scores?

Habersham County’s taxes are going up for next year. There is really no stopping it at this point. Even if the tax digest had come out as projected, it’s not like the money comes from thin air. The folks whose properties would have gone up to form the 18.

To the editor: On June 10, I received an email informing me that I would be receiving an absentee ballot. I had requested this for this year due to the risk of COVID as I am 71 yrs old.

To the editor: I have lived in this lovely area since 1999, and have noticed changes that have improved the Habersham County, and some that have not. My biggest disappointment is being censored online when I try to share anything political with my friends.

Perfection is a state often pursued but rarely achieved. Even so, that is what we at The Northeast Georgian strive for in absolutely every issue. Most of the time, we are successful, but there are times that human error – either made by us or someone who is a source – can get in the way.

Finding our growth zone

Demorest is suddenly seeing a flood of new building projects, including the apartment complex on 441 Business Highway and a proposed complex on Arlington Street. A lot of folks came out to protest the latter complex, saying they did not want apartments in their neighborhood.
