To understand the incomprehensible

To the editor: As an older guy who has himself been deemed challenged, I wish to offer my reading neighbors a Clardy test. At a time in my lengthy life where I find more opportunity to watch TV, I am struggling to discover a reason why somebody would. To my neighbors, try this simple experiment.

Thoughts on abortion

To the editor: Our Supreme Court was embarrassed this week with the release of their recent ruling on the Roe v. Wade law that took effect in 1973. This landmark decision protected a pregnant woman’s liberty to choose abortion during the first trimester of the pregnancy.

Cheering for more than laundry

I have lived in Habersham County going on three years, and anyone who has seen me around knows I am not native to Georgia. If nothing else, that is evident from the seemingly endless hats and jerseys I wear around in my spare time, and most of them this time of year say “Phillies” on them.

Father would be embarrassed

To the editor: My father passed away in 2012. If he were alive today, he would be waking up each morning completely embarrassed, ashamed of what’s been going on in this country recently. You see, he was a staunch Republican most of his life – and he loved his country.
