We need to use state surplus wisely

This is getting ridiculous. Once again, state revenues are astoundingly large. The latest figures, for the budget year that ended June 30, show the state took in almost $6.2 billion more than a year earlier, an increase of about 23 percent.

Appreciation for our farmers

Today I want to give a great big thank you to all the gardeners/farmers in our area. It doesn’t matter if you grow for the masses or if you are a home gardener who loves the dirt and enjoys helping your family, friends, and neighbors who are not so gifted at growing anything edible, that is.

President not getting job done

To the editor: I hope all the people who voted for this idiot they call a president are proud of him. I would like to know what he has done to make the U.S. better than it was in 2020. I can’t think of anything. He has screwed up everything that he has been involved in.

Let Brandon go

What does Let’s Go Brandon mean? The little kid asked me from the side of the road during the Fourth of July parade after a giant red plastic elephant passed by with those words on its side. Um, well ... If this kid would have asked me a couple months ago I could have honestly said I don’t know.
