We are making slow and steady progress through the COVID-19 vaccination plans. But, the process, bogged down in bureaucracy and red tape, is taking too long. Why are the supplies rationed out in limited quantities? COVID-19 invaded and attacked our country more than a year ago.

Georgia is once again considering whether sports gambling should be brought to the Peach State. Sports gambling is legal in 18 states and the District of Columbia, but its fruition here has failed in the past.

On Nov. 8, Habersham County was down to a seven-day average of 4.1 cases per day. It looked like perhaps COVID-19 was finally starting to yield. But it was not to be, and across the nation, numbers shot up over the holidays. Habersham County reached a pandemic-high 47.6 cases per day on Dec. 21.
