   Every profession has its standouts, those who set the standard in their field. Robert Williams is one of those people in journalism.    Robert owned several weekly newspapers, mostly in South Georgia, for about 55 years. I’ve known him for more than half of that time.

Get the mail fixed

   How often has your mail been on time lately?    According to numbers presented by U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff Thursday, we’re only getting 75 percent of our mail on time in Georgia.    Yes, the numbers are better than they were earlier this year when the rate was at 36 percent.

   There have been many times we have been in a public meeting, and had someone - a board member, a staff member or even a speaker addressing the board - request that what they said or were about to say not be published in the newspaper or broadcast on the radio.

Promise Scholarships give students options

   Students across Georgia are enjoying Thanksgiving break. For many families, their schools are one of the things that makes them grateful this week — even if the kids may not admit it.    Other families may not feel the same way. Maybe their child is struggling.
