A gentleman tells another to zip up in a crowded room. Really?

   “In a world of cellular phones, express lanes, business lunches, and political correctness, being a gentleman seems to be more and more complicated.”    So far, I agree with John Bridges, author of a book titled “How to be a Gentleman: A Contemporary Guide to Common Courtesy.

Regional post office letting us down

   It is a poor business model to continually raise rates and deliver declining levels of service, but that is the current model of the U.S. Postal Service.    The USPS has been having a difficult time delivering anything out of county and state for quite some time.

   After more than 20 years, I do not have any single-digit aged children left.    While that seems like a stretch as a legitimate milestone in one’s life, I find it fascinating nevertheless.

   As a famous children’s book said, the rain, rain, rain came down, down, down on Friday night at Raider Stadium.    It was a huge game for both Habersham Central soccer teams, but for the Lady Raiders in particular, they had a chance to make some history.

   I’m not exactly what you’d call a “car guy,” but I do plenty of driving so I’m on the road often. I don’t mind a nice, long stretch of open highway. Throw in a solid podcast and some tunes and let it ride.    Those long stretches are in decline, though.

   The Habersham Ninth Grade Academy and Partnership Habersham hosted an interactive career expo Tuesday with local business and industry for local freshmen.    This annual event, now in its sixth year is an excellent opportunity to build the future workforce of our community.
